Here’s how:

  • Our first step is my favourite: learning. I find as much information as I can about our topic by deep diving the internet, reading journal articles and interviewing industry experts. Then I dump all that information into a master document and color-code it by theme to start making sense of it all. Now, I'm ready to put on my storytelling hat and find the narrative arch. I'll create an outline for the text with your audience and content goals in mind.

  • With the outline and themes ready, I’m ready to start writing the first draft. I like to use text correction tools to avoid spelling or grammar mistakes but your copy is always written by me. I’ll never use AI to write your content. 

  • The first draft is usually written in my own voice, so now it’s time to make it sound like you. That might be a more approachable and casual style, or it could be quite polished and professional. I’ve written it all. What matters is writing for the people you’re speaking to.

  • Before sharing it with you, I’ll take a break and come back to the text with my SEO glasses. I strategically include keywords and related terms where they make sense to help the content rank higher on search engines. I’ll also search engine optimize the copy to hit the right word count, create meta descriptions, and write alt text for your images.

  • Take a read and let me know what you think. My goal is to write copy that reflects your brand and adds value to your audience, eventually leading to conversion. It might take a few tries in the beginning, but as we collaborate, our revision time will decrease. What really helps me is if you have a communications plan or content strategy to guide the copywriting process. If you don’t have either of those, don't worry; I can help you create them.
